Default Tim Heed - how much of a downgrade?

With Karlsson going to San Jose, what do we think of Heed's chances to make the roster regularly and be productive?

I grabbed him off waivers in a dynasty cap multi-cat (G, A, Pts, SOG, PIM, Hit+Blk) hoping for some off-night usefulness, but now am thinking about dropping him back to waivers.

    F1: Voracek, Giroux, Couturier

Yep. The trade all but eliminates his value.

Heed was already in tough in a league that counts hits and PIM. The Karlsson deal is a major blow.

Maybe this opens up a trade for Heed. Just maybe, this is a good thing for Heed. Either way, he is a UFA next season.

This thought is why I was surprised he wasn't going to Ottawa. A cheap UFA with offensive skills seemed like a fit. Then again, I'm not a NHL GM - but Ottawa probably could use one of those as well.

I'm grabbing Ryan Kesler instead. Might not pay off at all, but free is free.

If he could have a negative value I would believe he would...I would not get rid of him yet though, could be dealt in the near future....but if he is still on the SJ roster he is burnt toast.

This trade likely increases Tim Heed's value as he won't be sticking around San Jose as the 7th dman. He will either be traded or placed on waivers and picked up by Edmonton (or someone else) where he will get a chance to dominate on a PP.

The Karlsson addition certainly doesn't help but as mentioned above, he could very well be traded.
