Default Start a RB or WR tonight in flex position?

I'm new to fantasy football and starting off with a close matchup in week 1. I have three positions open tonight and four players playing. 2WR and 1 Flex. Yahoo projects me losing my matchup by 1.5 fantasy points so it's going to come right down to the wire.

    WRs
    Brandin Cooks
    Marvin Jones Jr
    Robert Woods

    RB
    LeGarrette Blount

Would you start Blount over any of the WRs?
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

    No, I personally wouldn't.

Blount is in a very crowded backfield and who knows how that is going to shake out. He could rush for 2 TDs and 10 yards... or he could not play at all... no one knows what is happening in Detroit backfield.

So I would go with the players that you know are going to play. and If you are going to be in a close matchup, hopefully 1 of the Rams' WR will get you a TD... but I wouldn't expect a TD from both of them.

    PPR. Scoring is below

Passing Yards 25 yards per point
    Passing Touchdowns 4
    Interceptions -1
Rushing Yards 10 yards per point
    Rushing Touchdowns 6
    Receptions 0.5
Receiving Yards 10 yards per point
    Receiving Touchdowns 6
    Return Touchdowns 6
    2-Point Conversions 2
    Fumbles Lost -2
    Offensive Fumble Return TD 6
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

In a half PPR then even more reason to start all 3 WR. Blount is not going to catch any passes and will only get chances if the team is hung up at the 1 yard line and gets a 1 yard TD... the TDs are nice, but they are never certain. Catches and yards are more certain from those WRs.

    Don't go chasing TDs.

In .5 PP the WR route is definitely the safe route to go, the rotation in the Lions backfield is too ugly to predict.

Just curious what the current score is, and who he's got left to play?

    Thanks for the input.

Current score is 110.48 to 75.24. He has no one left to play and I have three spots. Yahoo has me projected to finish at 109.06.

This projection is with which players in the lineup?

Weird, it seems to change. It shows 109.06 on the main page, but if I go to my team page it shows 117.95 with the three WRs or 115.29 if I sub in Blount for Woods.

I'm still completely new to fantasy football so I'm feeling my way out around everything from strategy to the actual layout and intricacies of Yahoos interface (at least compared to hockey)

I do kind of like Blount since Kerryon is likely going to be limited.....but I would still go all 3 WR. Hope you can stay up late to watch!

They still have Abdullah, and Riddick as well tho.. As much as I like Blount & his redzone TD potential, I just wouldn't risk my entire week on it happening.

I'm with the others and would start the 3 WRs here. I think Matt Patricia will use Blount and generally believe he probably gets in the end zone tonight. But as others have mentioned, I'm not willing to wager on it in crunch time given the crowd in that backfield and the near certainty that Blount has zero involvement in the passing game.

    Good luck!
