Unhappy #3 Goalie but slim pickings

This is for the league in my sig, we keep 20 on our main roster and 7 on our farm. Keeper stats are W, GAA, SV% & SO and I currently have Holtby and Allen as my two main starters but thinking I need another just in case of injuries. Quite a few goalies are kept and a lot of the top prospects are stashed away, so pickings will be slim once the get to me. The current goalies left available are:

    Starters:
    Anderson (OTT)
Reimer (FLA 1A/1B Luongo already drafted)
Neuvirth (PHI 1A/1B Elliot already drafted)
    NYI duo (Greiss/Lehner both available)

Back ups (could any steal #1)
    Bernier (DET)
Miller (ANA unlikely but Gibson does get injured)
    McElhinney (TOR)
    Khudobin (DAL)
    Kinkaid (NJD)

It's slim pickings from this apple tree, so I need some help from the collective Dobber minds

Anderson and Kinkaid would be my top options. I'd probably lean towards Anderson in a vacuum, but I would consider checking on how schedules stack up to see if you would even get any value out of the third option you pick (i.e., if all 3 goalies play on the same nights most nights).

Anderson for me. Only starter. Check the roster maximizer. If he has a decent schedule for you he would be my pick of these. The rest are just throwing darts, I would just add another skater at this point.

Well I'm admittedly a big Lehner fan... despite the yearly disappointments from him. Probably would have cut bait on him this year, however with Korn joining Trotz on the Isles, I'm intrigued again. In both Lehner and Greiss. Korn consistently shows that magic touch with goalies. I also think the Metro is a little more volatile of a division than others.

I think basically most (all?) of the others are a little safer (save Neuv) - so I guess it comes down to what you prioritize with your team. Personally I'll likely roll the dice on Lehner one more time this year.

I like Lehner too, though he has bit me in the a@@. I missed him. He will likely be the starter in New York too. Still think I lean Anderson, but Lehner could be worth a roll of the dice.

Anderson, if not I think you gotta try to get the NYI tandem. Costs you an extra spot, but if you want security at G then that's your only option to ensure lots of starts. And you always hope one of them has an up year.

Reimer could take the reins if he plays well and Luongo either starts to show his age or gets hurt. Bernier, don't see why he couldn't split starts with Howard...and there is also the chance that Bernier gets handed the keys at some point with Howard pending a pending UFA and Bernier locked up for 3 years.

Kinkaid could steal starts and may very well play a lot in October with Schneiders lingering injuries.

The rest isn't great. I rank Neuvirth pretty low in that group; he's just too fragile to meet his potential and there are other options in net for the backup in Philly.

If this is strictly for a 3rd goalie I'd easily go Lehner. I see him playing 50- 60 games this season. I have no idea how he is going to do in those games, but I see him playing in them.

Thank you all for your thoughts, rep incoming.

So the two main starters left are both on teams that are expected to struggle but will the Islanders struggle that bad having only lost one piece (although a big piece) , maybe. I think the schedule maximiser could help here, where do I find that?

I like Kinkaid a good bit, as he gets the starter's share early. If you have games played limit, that's likely enough. He's likely to split the rest of the way, and he hasn't asked to be traded, which Anderson did. I have zero faith in Ottawa, so Anderson's out.

Of the rest, Miller will get starts, and I expect Miller to be good in what he gets, but it's limited. Lehner, Reimer, Bernier could take the starting jobs, and are likely to get a decent split of time due to injury or a crap guy in tandem or ahead of them.

Why Anderson and not, say Lehner, do you see Ottawa getting more wins or just Anderson getting more playing time?

Hearing a lot of good things about Mitch Korn now being in NYI and that he could help the G and that Trotz will improve their defence.

A quick update, Lehner was taken the pick before me so i took Anderson (OTT). We shall see how right some of you were in due course.

Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and help.

If healthy. He always gets injured. But I agree that Lehner is the choice here, followed closely by Anderson.

Just to add another update, with EK leaving OTT it looks like it could be a long season in the nations capital, so I was on the look out for another goalie. With the news that Crawford was still struggling with concussion issues, and may miss anything from a few games to the whole season, I grabbed C Ward as another option, hoping for a bit of a Chicago bounce back and Ward being excited by a new start.
