    Default The battle of no-names!

Won't say their names outright, but they perhaps won't be hard to guess

    Player A
25 years old, $5.3mln for the next 5 years.
    Last year: 58pts. 2,148 fpts.
Played the last 19 games of last season on a new team and greatly increased production.
Looks primed this year to play on the top line with elite/franchise linemates.
Prediction for this year: 72pts. ~2,700fpts.

    VS.

    Player B
26 years old, last year of $6mln, UFA, looking at $10mln(?)
    Last year: 82pts. 3,062 fpts
Will likely be traded this year and sign a long term expensive contract
Prediction for this year: 80pts. ~3,000fpts

Cap is important. I'm also looking at Seguin next year. Can always move Backes - The $6mln anchor.
No doubt player B is more of a "sure thing". I like sure things over "potential".
    31 team permanent keeper. 12F, 6D, +1 Skater, 2G, 5 Reserve, 8 Prospects (744 skaters, 62 goalies, 248 prospects)
    Goalie - 20 W, 2.5 save, -15 GA, 15 SO
    Skater - 25 point, 2 PIM, 1 Hit, 2 Block, +/- 10, TOI 0.2/min, Special team points +5, Fight 5
Strict NHL salary cap & floor

Not hard to guess at all. It took me a combined 2 guesses to get the 2 players. The first one was actually the easier one, as he's on my dynasty roster. I will play along with the no names, but say they are both forwards, so there's no cross-position comparison. That would've been truly unfair.

I like both. The first guy is much griittier, and I think that boosts him by roughly 5 NHL points scored in your system. Sadly, +/- is junk, and having it be 10 times a hit or 5 times a block is ugly. I think the first guy might see more short-handed & defensive zone time, so that's really bad. If he doesn't see that short-handed time, that would help. The second guy's situation is up in the air, long-term.

I'm guessing since you say "strict NHL salary cap & floor", you roster most of the guys in the league, excluding the true albatross contracts and injured guys. Ideally you want the second guy this year, but likely the first guy after that. I don't think either will be killer contracts, but the second guy is likely to have more name value.

Seeing the rest of your team & your cap situation would help.

Not gonna lie I had to look into this one but Player B is certainly more of a sure bet to produce but that contract needs to be accommodated somehow.
