The teens have never left the Maritimes, eh? If that is the case I would take an afternoon and walk around Spadina Ave, Chinatown, Kensington Market in downtown Toronto. This will be a 100% different afternoon than what they are used to.

we usually fly when attending a leaf-isles game or concert but I've been tempted to drive from northern ont. and stay slightly north of the city (markham) and just zip downtown to do whatever then back up to markham in the evening due to the cheaper hotel rates than downtown tor. . Plus , it would give us a bit of a head start on the morning heading back home .

I think if booked ahead you can sometimes get the good quality chain hotels for 120-140 a night in markham + your taxes instead of 200+downtown tor

Warning for that after growing up in Markham, be careful to plan enough travel time. Toronto has some of the worst commuting times for a reason. Roads get bogged down fast. Subway is decent, but lots of closures and often packed.

thanks for all the info folks. Some great tips there. I never knew or thought about booking tickets for Ripleys in advance so that's good to know. We are only staying in the Vaughn area for one night, maybe two, and then we have a hotel downtown for a night when we go to Ripleys/Jays game. Personally, I have been to the HHOF a few times so I doubt I will hit that up again. I love it, but the wife and kids wont like it as much. My son maybe but the two girls would rather be touring other things I think.

The steamwhistle brewery tour was a really good one too by the way. And it's literally across the street from the Skydome (Rogers Centre).

If it was just the wife and me I'd give the Steamwhistle tour a go but not sure about taking teenagers through there.

If your kids are into games and such, you should look at "The Rec Room" for after the Jays game. It's across the street and it's like a cleaner "Dave and Busters". But it does fill up with drunks as it is right across the street from the SkyDome....

Not sure if you have anything like this in NS but, if you're family is into it, African Lion Safari is pretty cool.

It's about an hour and a bit from Richmond Hill. You can go on a tour bus through the reserve or drive through yourself, although you would be risking damage to your vehicle. I haven't been there in about 25 years so i'm sure there have been changes but it is a unique experience.

Have a great and safe trip.

If you're taking highway 401, I'd suggest trying our en route stations. Best in the business; long lines, overpriced gas, dirty bathroom floors and food prepared by mild mannered teenagers. You could spend a whole afternoon there. Don't forget to feed the seagulls. And watch for lot lizards....
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

    Lmfao.

Rec Room is a great suggestion from 2014OG though I will add the caveat that it's pretty expensive there and it does get flooded with people following Jays games.
