I don’t think collusion should be the only grounds for a veto. Not that I’m arguing this should be a veto but it shouldn’t rest solely on collusion. How many leagues have we seen where there are a group of core GMs, usually 25% of league members or less, where 3-4 or 5-6 teams have been built up to superpowers and the rest of teams suck? Then you get the poor teams having ownership turned over again and again.

We see it here in the classifieds all the time. These types of trades, if made too
Often by the same GMs absolutely cripple the long term health of most leagues.

Regarding the 3 reasons in Moses' list: I'm thinking this is a "new owner needs to get acclimated" veto.

While I hate those, I do realize some leagues need them.

Not to disrespect you - but I think it's veto worthy. I know you're just doing what you need to do to better your team, but personally speaking, I wouldn't take any of the assets you offered for free. Let alone give you Subban in return.

With that said, your league is quite a bit bigger, so those assets are worth more in your league than mine, but I'd still say it falls under the category of new owner needing time to understand value, as others have mentioned.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I was not pissed anymore about the veto as the manager i was trading with was also having second thoughts and i would have felt bad if he immediately regrets the trade. However i do think in our league vetoes should be more consistent in future and i hope we can make it happen.

Good on you for stepping back and thinking about the league as a whole, instead of your individual team.

Getting consistency with vetoes is of course desirable, but also very hard. That is why I think it's very important for anyone who lays down a veto card to thoroughly outline their rationale.

FWIW, I am always leery of new GM's that come into a league and make trades in a day or two. You just know they haven't taken the time to assess player values or league settings...
