Default Tolvanen vs Suzuki vs Thomas

    Hi,

I will probably have the opportunity to choose one of them in my next draft. We are a dynasty with salary cap. Who do you prefer? I finish 4th last year because all my goalies struggled. With a just normal goaltending, I am competing for the 1st place for sure (I was 1st in january just before Allen, Darling and Schneider choke or get injured)..

So I am in a win now mode, but I always think a little bit for the 2-3 next years.

    Thanks for your advice!!
10 team dynasty (salary cap), start every week 12 fowards, 6 defenses and 2 goalies

    Goalies: W 2 pt, OT lost 1pt, Shootout lost 1pt, shutout 1pt

F: Gaudreau, Matthews, Malkin, Eichel, Fiala, Zibanejad, Pavelski, Rust, Nelson, Suzuki, Eriksson Ek, Sharangovich
D: Karlsson, Josi, Heiskanen, Montour, Theodore, Ekholm

Anyone other high end prospects available? What makes you think it's between those three players? Regardless, in points-only leagues I'd rank them:

    Tolvanen
    Thomas
    Suzuki

I like all 3 quite a bit, though. Suzuki will take the longest, the other 2 should be NHL regulars next year. In fact Thomas is my favorite, but I am on an island for thinking he's a better own than Tolvanen so I won't give you that advice

All three are excellent young prospects.

    My preference:

    Thomas
    Tolvanen
    Sukuzi
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

I agree with Suzuki being third, but thats just because he's a little further away. Still very highly regarded.
I would say that Thomas and Tolvanen have very similar value, though with Tolvanen you get a higher ceiling, and with Thomas a much higher floor.

    Thanks everyone.

I have the 7th pick and knowing the others GM before me, I think it will go like this:

    Karlsson (William)
    Zucker
    Gourde
    Miller (Colin)
    Haula
    DeBrusk
    Tolvanen
    Suzuki
    Thomas
    Tuch
    Donato
    Heinen
    Kapanen
    Bratt
    Kempe
    Kerfoot
    Kostin
    Dunn

Do you see players I should target instead of Thomas, Tolvanen or Suzuki?

If that's the way you think the order will go, I'd say no. Those are the three best players available to you at that point. Only exception may be Donato or Tuch (both have a solid chance of top 6 minutes), but that's strictly because you're in win now mode. I'd still keep the other 3 ahead of them.

    tolvanen, thomas, donato, suzuki, tuch

id put thomas 1st but st loo is stacked at C

if you want results sooner then tuch ahead of suuz and maybe even ahead of the pack, as he may hit 25 goals and 50 points before the rest of them. but if you want cieling + likelihood then pretty much what i listed.
