    Default Do I trade tolvanen?

12 team keeper league points only.

For goalies 2 points win 2 points shut out

We drop 9 players at end of this month before our draft in September

I have 2 deals from other GMS that have been offered to me

#1 tovanen 3rd round pick and Atkinson
    For bobrovsky and Bergeron

#2 tolvanen first rounder and Atkinson for kessel
I could get another prospect back like brannsttom or Svechnikov (Detroit)

I believe my team should be able to compete. Top 3 anyway

Is this enough for tolvanen? Am I selling short?

I have pm?d a few others previously but I am really struggling with his and thought I would reach out here before I pull the trigger or if a pull the trigger?

I have no idea what the value is on the draft picks b/c I don't know the size of your league (nor the number of keepers). So very hard to say...

For a team that is top 3, going into the season with Allen (very inconsistent) and Crawford (is he even healthy) is very shaky at best. So I like the first deal more than the 2nd . But it's impossible to say whether I think it's a good deal, given all the unknowns...

Well it’s a 12 team keeper league (1st round pick will be something like Q. Hughes, borgstrom or wahlstrom type)
3rd rounder tuff to say maybe couturier type player or another 50-55 point player at best) or a 40 point d like a Justin Schultz type player.

So we keep 14 players year to year and we drop 9. We have until 22 years af age before we have to put rookies in lineup. We can put them in any time but once we do we can’t bring them back down: they have to stay in line up or be dropped

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can add more info.......

Not knowing what stats are counted, I would go with the first deal and then try to trade Allen. I'm a huge Blues fan, but his inconsistencies are pretty glaring at this point. I also haven't bought into the hype surrounding Tolvanen. I believe that Mittelstadt (which you also have) is a better prospect and will provide better stats long term.

So 12 teams x 14 keepers = 168 players (and that doesn't include prospects that are kept). You have 5 prospects, assuming that is average, there's another 60 keepers. So a first round pick is almost certainly going on 2018 draftees, with these guys being held until they are reasonably productive.

If you believe in Dobber's predictions, Bob will get you 88 points (versus Allen at 78 points and Crawford at 72 points). Bergeron = 58 pts, Atkinson = 65pts. Based on those predictions, the deal doesn't seem worth it to me. You are losing Tolvanen, close to 5 years in age from Bergeron to Atkinson, as well as a 3rd round pick.

Alternatively, I have a feeling that the predictions for both Allen and Crawford seem too high.

I don't really care for the second deal at all. I don't think you need a winger that badly. I'd be focused on shoring up your goalie (unless only 1 goalie counts).

    The second deal isn't good.

I'd make that first deal, because Bobrovsky > Crawford & Allen for both quality and certainty. You can likely deal Allen for something, or maybe swap Allen in for Atkinson, if that works.

Yeah the second one is a no-go, but if you're looking to compete and desperate for a solid G (which IMO you are) the first one makes sense. Bob is an elite G and should be for some time. Bergeron will be a solid piece in the short-term too.

Might hurt looking at the points race in a few years though.

I would take the first deal! BOB plus Bergeron is excellent return for Tolvanen. Make that deal.

I think I would deal number one. If you think you are in a position to compete, Bobs could put you over the top.

The thing about Tolvanen and Nashville is that none of their forwards get a ton of points. Scoring is spread around too much.

Thank You to everyone for your advice!

I ended up trading Tolvanen, 4th round pick and Domi for Bobrovsky and Bergeron. I'm very excited for the season to begin!
