2.3 - RW Blake Wheeler - WPG
Not sure if he'll beat last years point totals, but I think he'll be close. Another player with great category coverage.

Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
What the hell, time to break out of the forward funk...with pick 2.5, The Comish is proud to select G-Connor Hellebuyck Wpg

2.6 Taylor Hall
Well it was Taylor or Tyler in the 2010 draft, it was Taylor vs Tyler in the first round for me and it will Taylor vs Tyler when it comes to April and the Art Ross race ... I think Hall has overcome his injury concerns and will be a regular 75+ game guy going forward.
And he scored how many points without much help. A healthy Palmieri and a year older Hischier pushes Hall to 100 point this year.
And if it weren't for a guy
2.7 - Erik Karlsson (D) - Ottawa Senators
The best defenceman in the game. He had a down year with 62 pts in 71 games last season all while battling through some injuries but with the possibility of him being moved to Tampa there is always that chance he hits 80+. Decent hits/blks (80+170) by my estimation and a solid 200+ shots. I think for this season he stands alone in the top tier among defenceman. His value obviously drops if he stays in Ottawa this season but I'm betting that he gets moved.
2.8 - #Jack Eichel
This the year?? Better Team, more playmaking players. Lots of Shots and PP opportunity Up:89 pts Down:75 pts

2019 WHL GM of the Year #Supersoft
Now, not to give away one's strategy, but I've won two one-year pools over the last two years... and both were done the exact same way.
Ovechkin (with a top 3 pick), then D-D, and D-D in rounds 2-3, 4-5. It seems to be a rock-solid strategy in a 12-team snake draft... which both were.
While I didn't get Ovechkin, Kucherov is damn close in value, so...
Without further adieu, Pengwin's Penguins selects with the
2.9 Brent Burns
Burns is a SOG & PPP monster and also offers decent PIM/HIT/BLK.
He's got another year coming with no threat to lose his PP1 and top line role and I see no signs of significant drop-off to his game.
Sharks could be even better scorers with Evander in for full year and Labanc, Hertl, and Meier another year seasoned.
given that the 2 of the last 3 picks were ones i wanted..

A very nice draft so far, with the top 27 players off the board very closely to what I'd do.
There is a "group" of players with very similar value here that I do NOT like for a certain reason.
Since we aren't discussing players we don't like... let me go into who I do like...
What I am still looking for here is a guy who gets big scoring (relative to the "waiver level" of his position)
AND...
checks off at least one more BIG box... on multiple of the PERIPHERAL boxes.
Drew Doughty is the guy I like here.
He's the bridge between the upper tier of multi-cat D-men (Karlsson/Burns/Hedman/Buff/Subban) and the second wave.
He can do 120+ in HIT & BLK and rake 50 PIM.
LA should be slightly improved offensive team with Kovalchuk.
The PP1 could be dynamic with Kovy unleashing his Ovy-world one-timers.
Toffoli is a year improved and hopefully Carter is healthy.
Two full chugging lines could be big dividends for the LA rear-enders, especially Doughty.
With the 3.4 pick, Pengwin's Penguins selects Drew Doughty.
