Hey me and some buddys are dying to start a keeper league but haven't really found a website explaining how to do one, I know i would like to do it offline but dont know how to make that work, I would like to know what stats to use and how many points each stat gives and how to keep track of points, trades and everything offline and email.

Are you looking for help coming up with settings, or actually executing the offline draft?

Indeed. The question isn't very clear at all.

Fantrax is by far the best platform, in my opinion.

if your a beginner then just use what fantrax supplies you with in a basic setup . I believe they use a simple scoring formula whether you choose h2h cats or h2h fps , roto or points only .

you dont even require an off-site place to meet as fantrax has a built in message board , chatbox and ability to email all gm's or an individual one through their server.

once you and your buddies get a season under your belt I'm sure you will find things to tweak for the following years .

I maybe in the minority but I absolutely hate fantrax, it isn?t user friendly, especially for beginners. If you are looking for year round coverage I highly suggest Fleaflicker, it?s fantastic. Other than that I?d suggest yahoo. If you have more specific questions I?d love to help.

Hi folks - does Fantrax or flea flicker do customized points only? We have been using “marqueur.com” works well / simple, but very manual for the comsh in terms of trades.

    Also, are there free.

    thanks!

fantrax has a free version with enough bells and whistles to keep a beginner happy and of course a premium version for deeper pools .

You can customize fleaflicker points system in anyway you like, plenty of options. And yes it is free with an option to buy an upgraded account which I don?t know anything about.

I've been using www.officepools.com for my points only keeper league for 5 years now. It allows for plenty of options for scoring and league configuration. It has private chat, trashtalk, and message boards. It does cost $20 annually, but we all split the cost so not a big deal.

I use www.lepool.com (english and french versions) for my keeper pts only pool. Never used any other sites so can't really compare but I find it's pretty user friendly and free. There's a trade tab and a forum which we use to announce trades. We do trash talking in our fb group. Also has a stats section which also has option to see available free agents.

here's the link to last years pool if ever you want to check it out : http://www.lepool.com/pool/39138
8 Teams - Season long points only limited keeper (7F, 4D, 1G) cap league using cap hit
    Active lineup : 20 (12F, 6D, 2G)
    Bench: 6 (3F, 2D, 1G)
10 trades for FAs + 10 moves between lineup and bench
    G (1 pt), A (1), W (2), SO (2), OTL (1)

F: McDavid, Stutzle, Hischier, Hyman, Konecny, Raymond, Perfetti, Guentzel, Bratt, Drouin, JT Miller, Peterka, Guenther, L. Carlsson, Zary
D: Makar, Q. Hughes, Malinski, Durzi, Harley, Sanderson, Clarke, Lundkvist
    G:Sorokin, Demko, Georgiev
NHL cap : $83.5 cap (bench doesn't count against cap)
