McAvoy is also under $2m but gets paid next season.

Definitely McAvoy. And the Karlsson trade factor isn't an issue for me, since if he goes to Dallas, Heiskanen goes to Ottawa and is ahead of Chabot. If he goes to Tampa, Sergachev goes to Ottawa and is ahead of Chabot. If he goes to Vegas, Theodore (or even Brannstrom long term) goes to Ottawa and is ahead of Chabot.

McAvoy, for sure. It will take two years until Krug is gone, but once that happens get ready for an explosion. And in the meantime he'll still do pretty well.

I like Chabot a lot but I worry about the pressure he will be under to take on EK's role when he departs. McAvoy has done more already and is in a better situation. Best you would hope from Chabot is getting up to McAvoy's level in a couple of years. Not worth the risk or the wait IMO.

I'm kind of surprised to see how Chabot is getting dominated considering how good he is.
I think player for player Chabot has an edge on him. But yeah, Ottawa is a mess and Boston is loaded for years to come.
