So also something I just realized, the luxury tax in the NBA works pretty interestingly.
You either pay the luxury tax, or you GET paid the luxury tax.
So if Toronto is 1mill over the tax, and ends up paying (pulling numbers out of my but), 10mill overall in taxes and being over the limit, they are at -10mill. If you are UNDER the luxury tax by 1mill, you end up getting a portion of every luxury tax the league received. So if 10 teams end up paying 200mill in luxury tax, the other 20 teams get a portion of it (avg would be 10mill/team).
So getting under the luxury tax in 2019-20 is a large deal for the Raps I think.
