Default Who do I keep? Who do I trade?

    Team in sig.
Finished the year in 2nd place...winner led wire-to-wire. Now I need to decide:
    Which 5 do I keep?

Goalies are important so It makes sense to keep Andersen

Hedman is my best ?D? man

Which are my best 3 forwards, and who could I trade for picks...right now I don?t have an 8th round pick (traded for Kopitar).
    Any help is much appreciated.

Ugh, tough choices there! I definitely agree with your protection strategy of keeping 1 G (Andersen), 1 D (Hedman) and 3 F. Looks like you've got B.Schenn as a must keep and I understand why with your league's settings. This might sound dumb, but Trocheck has huge value in this league - I know because one of my league's use these settings and I believe he's legit (he's not a one season wonder). My initial thoughts are that you keep Schenn, Kopitar and Trocheck. Unfortunately, that leaves Barzal, Pavelski, Huberdeau and Guentzel as trade bait. Provorov might have some value as well, but I have my doubts.

The only strategy I can offer you is for you to see if you can pull of a couple of 2 for 1 deals, but it will be extremely difficult with only 5 keepers. Offer Kopitar and Barzal for someone better than Kopitar (with your settings, not just points), but as I said, good luck because there aren't going to be many takers for 2 for 1 offers that can help you. Maybe deal the non-keepers for draft picks upgrades?

Agree with Comish - try 2 for ones for up grades - Even Anderson, always Leaf fans out there. Barzal good trade bait to add.

Schenn, Trocheck, and Kopitar are basically all must-keep players in this format. This leaves you with some interesting forwards available for potential 2-for-1 trade options (Barzal, Pavelski, etc). I would probably also keep Hedman — and Andersen depending on what you think the redraft situation will be like. If you decide against keeping a G, then I’d be choosing Barzal or Pavelski for the last spot.

    Cheers.

Absolutely on Andersen and Hedman. From there, Schenn, Kopitar, Barzal. While Trochek may have great value he's just not sexy enough. I'd keep Barzal for future trade value when you need it in season. I'm a firm advocate of always shopping your other notable names for any return unless you want to toss them back only to redraft. No sense losing a player for nothing if you don't have to. Take a look at holes on other GMs rosters and offer up what you can to fill. If it's a 2-4-1 as the commish said that betters one of your keepers, worth exploring as well. Good luck!

Schenn, Trocheck and Kopitar. I don’t think it is a tough decision.

    In this format, 1.Andersen, 2.Hedman, 3.B.Schenn, 4.Trocheck are keepers.
    5th is up for debate between Barzal(young), Kopitar(old/steady), Provorov(young/emerging H+B D).

To get a pick, you should dangle a guy regarded high.
I'd probably make it known that all of Barzal/Kopitar/Provorov are available.
Sell whoever you get highest offer for.
    Keep one of the other.

For me, Barzal v. Kopitar is close to a coin flip.
I like Kopitar better for production next 2 years, but Barzal's youth makes him very appealing.

Thanks for the insightful suggestions. In our league, if you don’t keep at least one starting goalie you will end up in trouble, with 30% of the cats being goalie’s.

I would look to trade Provorov, Barzal, Hubs and Pavs.
I concur with the other suggestions/keepers.
