Offer For Dahlin
Received an offer from the owner of the first overall pick (purely prospect draft) for Panarin, Krug, and Chabot. My initial reaction was no, since I already own the 3rd and 8th overall acquired via trades made the previous year.
Based on my roster, I rather hold onto my defenseman. I'm thinking of countering with Panarin, Chabot, and Reinhart.
Thoughts?

Panarin > 1st overall. Panarin has 0 bust risk, and has a decent shot to be the better player over whomever you take at #1.

The owner messaged me and wants a combination of Arvidsson, Krug, Dvorak, Chabot, McAvoy, Nylander, or Reinhart. I'm not too keen parting with any of those, other than Reinhart.

Reinhart + one of the other guys may make sense. Note that you don't have to take Dahlin. Other than that, you likely aren't interested, it sounds like.

You're right, I'm not desperate to make this trade. The one incentive I have is potentially losing some good prospects or vets due to our keeper league rules.

I'd be fine with that price. Problem is the GM wants an impact player to expedite their re-build, which makes sense. I would do the same in his position.

I wouldn't give up just yet. Get Breadman out of the talks, but I would be open to a Kessel+Trouba for Dahlin type of deal. I think Kessel is a prime candidate to soon be traded and start a decline. Trouba is solid but Dahlin could be an elite D in the mold of Hedman, etc. I don't think he hits 80 but he'll have some 70's.
If you could start shifting talks around Kessel (instead of Panarin) this gets interesting.
Adding, say, Dahlin, Zadina and Boqvist, Bouchard or Dobson at 8, would be sick.
