Scheifele or Pastrnak

had a lot of good input on my Barkov/Forsberg post so figured I'd do this again, league stats and team are in SIG

got offered Pastrnak for my Scheifele

who's the better player long term?, position doesn't matter to me just want the better player

Pastrnak (LW/RW) avg 4.0 last season
Scheifele (C) avg 3.9 last season

Position - Advantage Pastrnak (dual eligibility is huge)

Linemates - Tie - Both have point per game linemates and a solid PP.

Teammates - Advantage Scheifele - I think Winnipeg is deeper outside of their top line.

Injury History - Advantage Pastrnak Seems like every other season Schiefele is missing a decent amount of games, Pastrnak has played 75 and 82 games the last two years

Points - Advantage Schiefele - Schiefele has been point per game the last two years, Pastrnak is slightly below.

Age - Advantage Pastrnak -A couple years younger.

I think when it is this close I think I use position and age as the tie breakers and give the slight advantage to Pastrnak.

While you may not care about positions right now, that's the big difference here.

I'm just curious WHY position doesn't matter for you. Just looking at your roster you're overloaded with Centers and you're incredibly weak at RW.

This seems like a good trade to balance things out a bit. Relatively lateral move. If positions truly don't matter though I do like Scheifele by a slim margin.

Pasta for me here. Great pairing and a tough choice, but with more points provided on goal based categories Pasta beats out Scheifele easily in my opinion. Pasta had 35 goals last year, 34 year before & 13 ppgs last year, 10 year before. Scheif was 23 / 32, and 8 / 7 (fair ball, only played 60 games last year). Go Pasta!

I love both of these kids but give me Pastrnak. Wing vs. C is big for me, as is age and injury (free) history which benefits Pasta.
