Default Am I asking for enough in trading away Malkin?

League in signature. I?m simply trying to get a bit better peripherals with a younger player and also some depth in drafting. I?ve offered my Malkin for:
PLDubois, Sprong, 6th overall this year and a 1st rounder in 2019.
Am I giving up Malkin for too little?
I?ve also sent a secondary offer of Rakell, Sprong, 6th overall this year and a 1st rounder in 2019.

He started me thinking about it when he sent an offer of Rakell, Dubois and Sprong for Malkin. I declined it because in order to keep both PLD and Rakell, I?d have to drop Talbot. Sprong would go to my minors. Was I wrong in declining it?

No. Keep 8 or whatever Malkin is almost unmovable. You need to get another top end guy to consider it. Also no cap? No cap strengthens the reasons to keep malkin

Damn. So should I cancel the offers before he sees them?

If this was a deeper keeper, I'd be tempted, but in a Keep 8 league, Malkin still trumps those other guys. However, it will only be for the next couple of seasons at the most. Are you looking long term or short term?

I want to win this year, but it will be tough because I only have a pick every round. Next year, I don’t think I can be beat even if I keep the same keepers as this year because I have 16 drafts picks in the first 5 rounds.

Good move cancelling.. In a keep 8 you want top end talent with those 8. Malkin is still top end and you weren't receiving any back.
    Set roster weekly in H2H (Mon to Sun) - 16 Teams - start 6F, 3D, and 1G per week - Keep 2

    Points: 2 G / 2 A / 1 PPG / 1 PPA / 1 Hat Trick / 1 SHG / 1 SHA / 1 GWG - 3 Goalie Win / 2 Goalie Loss in SO or OT / 5 goalie SO

    Forwards:
    C. McDavid, N. Kucherov, R. O'Reilly, J. Schwartz, J. Toews, J. Huberdeau, T. Toffoli, M. Granlund

    Defense:
    B. Burns, J. Klingberg, R. Josi, J. Slavin

    Goalie:
    J. Binnington

    IR (2 max):

IMO, any deal involving Malkin or anyone in his tier has to start with younger player that has the potential to get to where Malkin is now. It's the price of paying to win now, and that's the price that you should be pushing out there if you're looking to deal Malkin.
Goalies: If I'm pickin em you best be sittin em!
