Prospect Keepers

For the league in my sig we are doing an expansion draft this summer. Teams will be protecting 7 prospects each.

The 7 I have in mind are:

Chabot, Samsonov, White, Vrana, Foegele, Walman and Tufte.

Would you swap anyone around?

I'm in the camp that thinks Gusev will never come to the NHL but I'd still protect him over Foegele. Gusev's name value might fetch you something in a trade one day and if he comes over, even better! I think Foegele could survive an expansion draft but doubt Gusev would.

Yeah Gusev was one name I was struggling to decide on, thanks for the input! We will be doing trades before hand as well so my list could change eventually.

One other I would consider is Cholowski, but I cannot say I would drop any of the 7 you mentioned to keep him. So I guess that means the 7 you have are the 7 I would protect!

Thanks PH! One thing I forgot to mention is that I will only be losing one prospect during the expansion draft, so I just want to make sure I'm not exposing someone that would hurt to lose.

To echo Dennis' advice... keep Gusev as the name value will likely cause him to be scooped up. Whereas you might get away with exposing Foegele. And if not, it really isn't a huge deal.
