    Default Draft day

    Hey gang,

Our offline draft starts today and should last a couple of days. Based on the team in my Signature, who would you take 5th and 12th overall? I was thinking Tkachuk or Wahlstrom then Bouchard or another available Defender.

    Thoughts?

    Cheers

I agree on Wahlstrom or Thachuk- whoever #4 doesn't take.

It's tough to know who will be there at #12. In my recent draft with similar settings to your league, Bouchard went #6.

6 eh? Hmm, hopefully he falls to 12 haha Ya, it's always difficult to give full details about a league without writing a massive paragraph haha

With FOW in play, think about centers that could be future #1 players.
That's still 1/8 cats that ONLY a center can provide.

To me, the top five is the top five:
    1. Dahlin, 2. Svech, 3. Zadina, 4. Kotkaniemi (for FOW), 5. Tkachuk (for grit: HIT/PIM).
Whoever is there, you take them.

    6. Wahlstrom, 7. Barrett Hayton (for FOW)

In HIT/BLK leagues, it usually takes young defensemen several years (4+) before their team is deploying them with enough ice-time to be raking in those stats.
And even then, we really don't have a good idea of which of the drafted defensemen will provide that.
I can say with pretty decent confidence that a small guy like Quinn Hughes is NOT going to be strong in HIT/BLK.
And you WANT most of your D to be able to provide HIT/BLK with those being cats.

So - focus on forwards that can give you some of those cats.

Wahlstrom SHOULD go 6th, in this format, IMO.
Hayton may or may not slide, it depends on whether your other GMs value FOW.

If he does go, I'd look at Kravtsov, Denisenko, Bouchard, Dobson, and Quinn Hughes or Adam Boqvist.

That's my 13 names for you.

Pengwin brings up a good point with FOWs. Kotkaniemi is probably the better pick over Wahlstrom.

    Hey gang,

I have my last pick pick coming up. My plan is either to draft a C or bring Borgstom off the minor bench and then just draft another minor player.

Notable C I was eyeing. Dahlen, Namestnikov, Nieves, R. Strome, Kamenev
Wingers I was eyeing. Troy Terry, Lindblom, Crouse, Goldobin, Sam Bennett, Tage Thompson
