Nylander or Marner has to be gone I assume. Not necessarily this offseason, but eventually.

Nylander out for someone on the back end would make sense for sure. Faulk is still out there, maybe Klefbom?

Does anyone think this may have a bit of a negative effect on Mathews? Probably not but you never know. He goes from the go to guy who was looking for more ice time from Babcock to a 1 1A situation.

1a/1b seems more likely. More than anything I see this dropping Kadri's minutes by a solid chunk.

Poor Matthews struggled to get PP1 time already LOL!

I brought up the whole "who's the 1C" topic in the Toronto team thread here. Also, it's not like Kadri was a terrible 2C. In fact, I read recently that Kadri has nearly as many goals over the past few seasons as Tavares has scored.

I’d look at the success Crosby and Malkin have had together over the years. Other teams won’t know who to match up against and both will benefit. Marleau’s fantasy value just went up a ton. He’ll be playing with one of those two. And yeah...that power play!!

Of course it does, who is the #1 center going forward? The upside of both these guys is effectively hampered, difficult for both to achieve 80+ pts each. Not impossible but very unlikely.

Did TSN just say he gets a 15 million dollar signing bonus before he even laces them up?
