    Default Hamilton In, Faulk out?

Interesting read on what the addition of Hamilton means for Faulk. Who would have interest in Faulk and at what price? His no trade clause kicks in 1 July...

I hope he gets out. EDM, VAN, NYI, SJ are all good landing spots.

it sounded like Faulk was gone before this deal. Now it seems inevitable

Interesting. I could see him ending up in Detroit.

I don't think Faulk has a lot of trade value TBH. His offense and overall role are trending down (though not terribly) and he's had four consecutive years with a huge minus rating. And he's close to $5 million.

He would be a great fit for the Oilers while they wait for Bouchard to mature into that role.

Put me down as thinking Detroit too - as a replacement for Green. Does Edmonton want him, and his minus tendencies? I think it would be a poor fit for him there.

Do teams really pay much attention to plus-minus?

Depends on the team. And really it’s a cart/horse argument a bit...as the article states. The Canes have the puck in the other teams zone and generate a lot of shots when Faulk is on the ice but they also seem to give up a ton of goals. Is it because Faulk is bad or the Canes are bad...particularly the goaltending. It stinks. Some teams will look at the advance stats and others will do the whole stupid eye test crap that some GMs can’t get past *cough* Bergevin *cough*. He’d be a decent fit for either the Oilers or the Wings. But like Eric said...is anyone willing to pay what they might ask?

If it's four big minuses in a row that stands out don't you think? That's how I see it. How the individual GMs see it is up to them to decide.

I suppose. While I'm not a big advanced stats guy, I think his possession numbers were all pretty good. And he is a 26 year old, right-handed defenceman. I still think there is value to be had. But you could be right - they haven't been able to move Skinner yet, and he's had a number of terrible +/- years too.

Skinner has nixed several trades the Canes had arranged because he has an NMC.

Call me crazy but I think Faulk stays. Unfortunately, it means he will likely take a back seat on the PP...except that his best attributes are his offense.. Dammit I dunno what to do with that guy.
