I actually agree with you. Any chance of the Leafs getting JT (or re-signing JVR) died when they signed Patrick Marleau.

No chance in hell that Montreal is not part of those 5!! They would offer the moon for him and I’m sure he already knows it!

5 teams Tavares is going to listen too:

Vegas, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Toronto..

No way he listens to Monreal or Vancouver in my opinion.. If I was to take one team out, it would be Dallas for St.Louis..

Ultimately I think he stays with the Islanders and signs a 8 year $88 million dollar deal!!

I’m soooo gonna revisit this thread after he meets with the Habs to rub your face in it (it being a Z-Lime Pie!!)

Jokes aside, I agree with your list with the exception of TB... I think MTL is that team. They are DESPERATELY in need of a centre (and a saviour). Yesterday’s “pick” speaks volumes on their need. They would literally give him a blank cheque at this point!

If he wants to win a cup: Vegas
If he wants to sign in the best city: NYR or NYI

But for the Habs sake I hope he signs with them. Me personally, I would sign New York. I think that was my hometown in a previous lifetime

I don't see how LA and TB can afford Tavares.. LA needs to resign Doughty and Tampa Bay Kucherov..

If he went home to Toronto I might lose it lol. According to CaFriendly, Toronto has $24.6 Million in cap space remaining. 8 years $85,000,000

Can the Leafs afford Tavares and Matthews?? Would it cost them Marner and Nylander?? Two guys getting over $10 million, would make for a huge cap crunch..
