I just can't see Vancouver or Montreal as landing spots. I'll go with Toronto and St. Louis. And Philadelphia over Dallas. I like the SJ and Vegas calls. Just to be clear, I've read nothing - this is just 'for fun speculation."

This must be a joke, Tavares is from Mississauga. I think he probaly is real familiar with the city of Toronto and if I was him and they showed me a film like I was a tourist I would leave right away. End of meeting.

Actually found out he grew up in Oakville, but still pretty close. He also played a year in Toronto with The Marlboros.

The tweet says "current players"; it doesn't mention ex players. And I'd have to assume the promotional video is less about selling the city (which JT would be familiar with) as more about the potential sponsorships he could be in line for if he was part of the center of the hockey universe.

I get that, I just don't think it is a good fit for him whatever way they spin it. With the price tag, how can the Leafs fit him in when they have to re sign Matthews, marner and Gardiner next season and Nylander and a few more holes this season. It can be done I guess.
