They should have traded for Pac
Younger, more upside at this point in their careers
I feel Kovalchuk will do a Gaborik
Signed a 3yr deal with the Kings today. Thoughts on fantasy value?
Obviously this isn't the Kovalchuk from 2008 so he's not going to set the league on fire, but it still seems like he can shoot with the best of them. Maybe he can manage a 30-35 type season? Assuming he plays top line with Kopitar.

Upside for 30 goals and 55 points. I don't really see anything more from him.
I think Kovalchuk is a very special athlete and a horse. He is extremely durable, elite shooter. I think this was a solid move by the LA Kings. If Jagr had longevity, I think Kovy can be an effective player for the duration of this contract. Playing top line minutes and 1st line pp, I can see him sniping 30 goals and ending up low 60 in terms of points. No assets needed to acquire the best player in the KHL. Solid move by Rob Blake.
