Monahan's ceiling?

He's been floating around the 60-65 ballpark pretty consistently, do you guys think he's got another gear in him to maybe push for 75pts or more?

I think it is less about another gear than it is situational for Monahan... Johnny Hockey has another gear, so rest assured when that kicks in, and depending on the other winger, a 75 point season is totally in the cards. The beauty of the kid is his solid, consistent floor. You know yer getting 60-65 from him, so you can lock it up and cross fingers for more.

I think this is where he settles most years. The odd year he may challenge for 70pts but I thnk the 60-65pt range is where I would expect him to be.

How would you compare his production to Horvat going forward.

I also believe 60-65 points and very solid FOW for those ( FOW ) leagues.
What amazes me about Monahan is his consistency. Over his career his scoring is between 27-31 ggp and 31-36 apg. For a total of 58-64 ppg average.
You know exactly what you are getting year-in and year-out. I believe a couple 70 pt seasons will be in there, but ultimately ya have to think about 65 points, 30 goals, 30 assists, 800 FOW each year on average.

I prefer Monahan to Horvat but I dont think Horvat will be too far behind him.

I also prefer Monahan to Horvat, as well as the general consensus that 65 pts is about what to expect on average.

I’m doing a a rebuild of sorts and traded Evander Kane and a 2019 2nd round pick (should be between 17-20 in terms of nhl) for Monahan. So this thread makes me happy!
