[Trade] Grubauer & Orpik to Avs

Will Grubauer be the starter or Varlamov?

I would expect it to be a more 1a/1b scenario. More of a 50/50 split, unless one or the other gets injured or plays very poorly. I could see a hot hand approach. They will let Varlamov play out the final year of his contract. Can't see them anointing Grubauer the outright starter and pay Varlamov that much money as a backup. I think Grubauer will be the future goalie next year........but will have to settle for a 1b role until then unless Varlamov flops.

I mean't it as i like the trade for both teams buddy... Both teams got what they wanted out of the trade. Avs got a Goalie and the Caps got a 2nd what more needs to be said ?

Interesting definition of hockey trade when a salary dump was a major part of the trade.
