    Default NBA Offseason

As this could be just as big of an offseason as last yr, I'm gonna start a thread on it. Some Summer fluff too.

    Big offseason questions:
    Where does Lebron go to?
    Where does PG13 go to?
    Does Kawhi Leonard get traded?
    Where does Chris Paul sign?
Where does DeMarcus Cousins go to?
    Will Melo be bought out?
Will the Wizards trade Wall and Beal?
Does Rondo get a large pay day in FA?
Does Jabari Parker get resigned or will he be a FA?
    Will the Timberwolves trade Wiggins?
    Will Miami trade Whiteside?

Just coming out today is that Kawhi wants traded out of the Spurs and prefers LA Lakers. And that Butler dislikes Wiggins and his lack luster effort on defense and in practice.

PG13 officially opts out of his Thunder deal (20.7mill)

Derozan is the NBAPA's FIRST Mental Health Director, whatever that means.

Lebron to LA Lakers 4yr deal worth a whole lot of money
Cousins to GSW, 1yr deal worth nothing

I don’t understand Lebron going to LA. I guess he doesn’t want to win.

I think he figures the talent will follow him around.

Doesn't look like it matters any more though, this season or any season in the near future. The NBA is in a really bad spot right now.

But even if the talent follows him. There are some already stacked teams in the west. If he stayed in the east he could keep his streak of finals appearance alive.

He lives in LA (2 homes), he has won his championships, going to the finals for the 9th yr means nothing really, LA is iconic franchise, he adds about 25-30wins to a team that he goes to and LAL had like 33 wins last yr so they instantly became a top team in the west. He signed a 4yr deal, not the typical 1 and 1 deal he's been on for the last few yrs so he understands it's a team being built.

Doesn't matter now with Cousins going to GSW. The teams biggest weakness was a big man since McGee left, and they crazy upgraded there for cheap.

It'll be close. Its insane to think they might actually get back to 73 wins.

Why stop at 82-0, might as well sweep the playoffs too... 98-0... wow that would be impressive.

Basketball has got to do something about this! My suggestion... make the court bigger so players actually get tired and have to change. This way depth comes into play.

STill though... they can rest their stars 20min a game each and still have 2-3 all-stars on the court at all times.

There's nothing wrong with the league. The GSW have just made the best rebuild/turnaround in North American sports history.

They drafted Curry, Klay, and Drammond all below 6th overall (7, 11, 35), they lost good players in the offseason when they got better contracts elsewhere, they play an unselfish fun style that Durant wanted to play in, they all sacrificed a little dollar to play together, and now with Cousins other NBA players can't be mad at the league when only the GSW offered him a contract this offseason.

Lebron could have taken a 4 yr deal making way less than he did to allow LAL to go get Cousins, or another FA but he didn't. Lowry/Derozan could have taken a little below their value to allow the Raptors to get that other player, but they didn't. We can't be mad at players willing to sacrifice money for their team.

NBA is considering having top 16 teams make playoffs rather than 8 from each conference. The major concern is additional travel.
