Default Wayne Rooney coming to the MLS?

No soccer section here so I guess this will be the place to post this. Looks like Rooney is coming to NA to play some footie here.

I'd be a lot more excited if the MLS keep it's young starts like Alphonso Davies vs. bringing in aged out superstars of yesterday looking to relive glory days gone by.

MLS has been a retirement league for European and some South American stars for a few years now. These are the players that sell tickets and shirts. Rooney likely won't be the starting forward or even the best option up front for DC but the average fan out there will eat it all up. Would be nice to get some younger guys like TFC did with Giovinco though.

MLS isn't at that level yet to retain their stars.

If/when it gets to that level it will be because of these aging euro vets that paved the way.

Lots more money needs to be funneled into the MLS still but they are doing a superb job so far.
