Default List of Sleepers / hidden gems?

    Hey everyone,

I'm looking for players that might be sleepers/hidden gems this season. Preferably Drafted players in the minors and/or players who may have a breakout year!

    Thanks

he's ripping up the AHL playoffs right now to the tune of 8g 12a - 20pts in 14 gp

    Andreas Johnsson

to say Babcock fell in love during the playoffs might be an understatement. He received double shifting with Matthews and Plekanecs in the final couple games of the season & when Komarov returned healthy, Babs actually sat Leo and played Johnsson again. I would not be shocked to see a 20-30 or 25-30 - 50-55pt season out of him if he lands in the top 6 this season.

Not sure how deep you go but check out Jonathan Davidsson. Some Columbus guys say he'll good shot next season.

A real good question to unpack - how many teams? how many prospects per team? Give us an Idea of how deep to dig. Otherwise, Sam Bennett is a name that keeps popping up as hope fades.

    I'll send you here: https://dobberhockey.com/Table/hocke...ckey-rankings/

Your league has a very shallow prospect pool - 60. someone like Eeli Tolvanen MIGHT even be available - since he was 30th overall last draft (even though he's #1 on the top 200 prospect list) Johnsson probably shouldn't even be owned in a league this shallow

Troy Terry, Roslovic, Donato, Bjork, Greenway - all guys that should step in and contribute next year...

Often in pools like this a top 10 Dman/Goalie or top 20/30 forward on Dobbers prospect list will be available.

Thanks for the reply. There's been talk about boosting the Minor bench size. Think Greenway will have a big impact?

I wouldn't expect more than 40pts. he should be good for hits though, multi-cat will give him added value

With that size league you can find better than Davidsson. My league has over 600.

I’m know they’re both homer picks... but I love Lucafen and Eyemissgilmour picks. I have big hopes for both Kappy and Johnsson!

    Donato intrigues me as well.

Don't know who's taken in your league but here's my two suggestions:

I think Anthony Cirelli from Tampa is a good pickup; he'll be the 3C, but Yanni Gourde was the last rookie 3C on that team....I can see a 40-50 point season happening under the right circumstances. He had 11 points in 18 games and the coaching staff seemed to be trusting him

Neal Pionk on the rebuilding Rangers could run the 2nd Powerplay unit and be a sleeper for a 30-point season as a defenseman; he played great in his audition and I don't see him going back to Hartford

Simple approach here since your league is quite shallow for a keeper:

    1) Go to Dobber's top 200 prospects list
    2) Start at the top, find players that fit your criteria (ie available, in minors, etc)
    3) Add them to your roster

In your league you are likely going to be able to add more widely-known prospects to your team. No need to dig too deep for sleepers.
