I wasn't aware players are done developing at 20. News to me.
What do we think about his upside? Has not produced that much even with top 6 opporturnity. Ofc it was his rookie season, but at least i was i expecting more from him. Does he still have good upside fantasywise?

Bust? Geez have a little patience. What exactly were you expecting from the 20 year old kid? Thompson has good upside but he is also going to be competing with some stiff competition from some other high end prospects. In St Louis, I think he is a top nine forward who has 45-55pt potential once he catches on.

"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
Keep in mind, Thompson's "Rookie" season was a mid season call up and he played close to 40ish games If memory serves and probably not much more than 11 or 12 minutes on average (even with some top 6 exposure). Not much of a Rookie season. And the Blues as a whole, seemed to really flounder down the stretch. I feel he's a "hold" at the moment. I suspect he breaks camp with the Blues and let's see what he can do in what should be his official Rookie season. Having said that, it will come down to his usage. With Fabbri hopefully back into the mix, I'm not sure that he's destined for top 6 minutes on a healthy Blues Squad.
30-40 points this year should be attainable. I still like his "Upside" as projected in Dobber's guide... High shot volume big forward who could post 60-65 points down the line.
As others have stated above, he is definitely not a bust. However, what I will add is that he has definitely been passed by several prospects on the Blues' depth chart. I don't think he becomes more than a third line player who can possibly be a PP specialist. I don't see him as a top six player on the Blues - not with Thomas, Kyrou and Kostin on their way. Won't take very long for all three of those to crack the NHL, and they all have significantly higher upside than Thompson.
So from a player development perspective, he's fine. But from a fantasy perspective, I would be worried.
GET WELL SOON, DOBBER.
No. I'd wait another 4-5 more seasons to make that assumption. I remember when he was drafted there was a guy in my league that said there were concerns with Thompson's game and whether or not he could translate but that was a while ago so I forget what exactly the 'concerns' were. I'd be patient with him.
They will probably trade him and he will blossom somewhere else instead of being a third liner

Many good players have forgettable rookie seasons. Don't judge him until he gets a real opportunity.

one of my favorites is Stamkos: 40-something points his rookie year I think. How dare a first overall pick not score at a point per game immediately?! Blasphemy!
Tage will be good, but he's the type of player that takes a little longer so if you aren't patient then just trade him to someone who is.
From what I have seen I don't believe he has sky-high potential but for a 26th overall pick with a half-year of NHL experience under his belt he's definitely ahead of the curve.

Haha maybe i should have added ?fantasy-? before the word bust. He looks to project as a solid nhler, but what im worried about is that will he be fantasy relevant. Have to admit was way too hasty to judge him in any case. Maybe its because our league has 82 game limit after which our prospects graduate and if you are at least semicompeting, then longer projects like him can end up eating that one valuable roster spot
