Going to Vegas, advice/ideas?

A couple people have recommended Bavette's steakhouse, new restaurant in our hotel, an OG chicago restaurant apparently.
I think we're gonna rent a truck and head to the hoover dam, the heli tours are expensive and i'm a little sketched out about it to be honest lol

For tours, ppl sell them on the side of the Strip (in a building, don't worry), and they're cheaper than if you get it before online. Or check out Groupon.

I found if you look a little, NOTHING in Vegas should cost you full price. Talk to the concierge at the hotel too, they should know how to get things cheaper, or even give you tickets to the show if you spend enough elsewhere.

lots of touristy options for someone who wanted non-touristy options.... but it's Vegas. I'm not sure there is non-touristy things to do?
