It's amazing, both teams seemed destined to win this trophy but only one will take it. Ovie looks focused and he's a man on a mission. 4-2 for Washington in game one with the empty netter. Ovechkin with 2 goals.

Games at 5pm local time. Both teams are going to come out sloppy. Both teams aren't doing a morning skate, both will have jitters as only 3 players (Fleury, Neal and Orpik) have been to the finals. It's gonna be tightly gripped sticks, and a lot of 3rd/4th line energy for the first 10min I think.

Also, Karlsson uses his speed to blow past Orpik/Niskanen in the first 5 minutes of the game for a solid chance is my guess. Uses his speed, uses their slowness, and their "sitting on their heels too much".

So Caps should win Game 1 then? I'd bet that stats will back up that teams with longer days rest lose more than they win in their first game back.

I think this makes sense. I think Vegas' worse game in the playoffs might have been game 1 vs the Jets. Where Vegas had an extended time off and Jets only had 2 days.

I think Caps win tonight 4-2.
