Sharks signed him before Christmas... next year in the AHL will be a nice measuring stick for him. Just looking at his stats he was a late bloomer, 41 in 69 in his 18yr old season. 8 in 59 at 17. With his size, no wonder he got passed over that year... his draft year +1 (when it just became fashionable to draft +1 over-agers that took a huge step forward) likely 5'8" scared more away.

The way the NHL is going, I do not think size is going to be an issue for this kid.

I'm just here to see if that last name spelling was due to a cat jumping on a keyboard. I used to think "Byfuglien" was a wild one! This new guy takes the cake...

Most prospects could dominate in a junior league as an overager, so don't go crazy about those numbers. Keep him on your watch list but that's all I'd do at this point unless you're in some super deep league.

Besides - everyone was scoring huge numbers in the WHL this season.

Combined 5 goals and 11 points in 21 games over the last two playoffs after 120 goals and 240 points in 143 regular season games. That's.... strange.
