Hang em up Lou, you're 75, sheesh. Sit on the couch with your grandkids, crack a beer and reflect on your life as one of the world's most brilliant hockey minds!
Hunter next in line to follow?

I'm not exactly sure how it will all work, but we've all believed Lamoriello will eventually run the NYI hockey operations department...and it's believed he represented the Islanders when he spoke to Tavares.

There's a full story on this on the athletic. lou to replace snow; will have full control. still not certain if he's gm, president, or both.

And there you have it.
The Tavares mess is on Snow either way. Tavares is a pro, if firing Snow changes his feelings about being an Islander in a negative way, then there are bigger issues.

I posted this over on the Islanders thread but will cross post it here since this will get more "eyeballs"
the NY post has a decent writeup of the situation from a NY perspective
LL at 75 will do a better job than the current trainwreck that Malkin & Ledecky have currently on hand
One has to wonder if Dougie Weight/Snow are toast as a result

Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Mark Hunter also headed to NYI? Friedman speculated about that on his podcast a few days ago too.

I like Doug Weight, but he should never have been given the full time job, despite the finish the team had after he replaced Capuano. Did he earn it, possibly, but he wasn't even sure he wanted the job when the season ended. That was the point where the brass should have brought in an experienced coach with a decent track record.

I think it says alot that JT's interest in resigning has gone from 0 to 50% since his sit down with Lou .
even if lou has to work with snow its at least a step in the right direction . I'd want a clean slate (Snow fired) but he's apparently got wang(15% owner) in his corner along with some poison pill that makes it a financial burden to fire him .
Lou did meet with Tavares before accepting the position. I can't see him accepting the role and have JT tell him he's 100% walking.

I dont usually like to do this but I'm off work with an mcl tear and have too much time on my hands
two sources on an isles mssg. board that I'm a member of have said.
1-he's already signed and things are under wraps until further notice (this source had lou lams touring barclays, nvmc, practice facility prior to dubas even being named leafs gm)
2-they are in negotiations and if he gets his number , he's staying (this source is a lawyer who has inside info & even knows the number JT wants but he wont cross that line for obvious reasons)
