I always find it funny how every year the top tenders (particularly the young, up and comers) from the previous year are automatically the most popular choices for best goalie next year. Last year it was all Murray, Talbot, Holtby. Flavour of the week much?

I think the other goalie in Carolina will be a very good one and not a typical backup. You could hear the disappointment from Waddell in describing his goalies. And he said the same two will not be back, which presumably means no more Ward because Darling has a lot of money and term. It's a total crapshoot, but expect it to be a decent 35+ game goalie. I think Winnipeg would give them Steve Mason if they really wanted him, for example. Buffalo management doesn't like Robin Lehner, so he could be traded for or signed if he's unqualified. Presumably Petr Mrazek becomes available. Halak if the Isles let him go. Grubauer has arb rights which might encourage the Caps to move him.

DARLING... I called over rated this time last year. My position hasn?t changed. Well actually it has. No longer over rated, just sub par tending.

To be fair, Holtby wasn't a "flavor of the week" pick, he was the guy who'd done it a few years straight.

Generally your point holds, though. I have no idea why people we so enamored with Talbot repeating that year.

Probably because they thought the Oilers would take another step forward instead of two steps back.

Yes, but that season had regression candidate all over it for Talbot. When you lead the league in all sorts of categories for the first time ever, and out of nowhere, it's really hard to repeat.

some will actually site a source vs. creating their own propaganda. So no, it's not what everyone does

Jussi Saros will takeover the 2018/19 season and take the preds to the cup final. Preds will be trading Pekka Rinne to the Isles in return for Halak and a 2nd.

LOL, I wish. I'm an Isles fan. Halak is a UFA so how about you take Griess off our hands instead?
