I agree this is really tough, and I agree with the choices. I feel like the first 3 are guarantees, and between Scheifele and JT it's really close. Marchand has to regress over the next season or two, and Matthews doesn't strike me as being on the same offensive level as Scheif and JT. He's more like a Kopitar.

Based purely on who i think will get most points from now on, this is bang on and i dont think its as difficult as some said. However if there is positional requirements you may want to consider dropping Schefiele and keeping Marchand. While your Cs are set if you keep the above, wingers are harder to come by, specially in points only.

You could make a lot of different arguments with that group of players. I would probably make a few homer picks myself. But being as objective as possible I think I would rank it his way:

Those are guys I have faith in for next season and trust in their upside being the Art Ross at the moment.

I'd try and see if you can pry Eric Karlsson away with some combination of 2 of those guys, plus Matthews who I don't think is at the same level, but has a great name to shop.

It came down to Matthews versus Scheifele for me. I just feel that deep down, Scheifele is driven to be the best - similar to Crosby in the drive department. I haven't seen the same level from Matthews.

I love Scheifele, love him. He's a monster and should be a PPG threat for a long while. But Matthews is Matthews - one of the best 20 year olds on the planet. When Scheifele was 20 he was just finishing up with the Barrie Colts. Matthews hasn't even gotten warmed up yet and already has a 40 goal season and a PPG season on his resume. There's no way on earth I'm not keeping a 20 year old with Matthews' elite upside.

Matthews is also 5 years younger, and even though he missed some time this season, I see him being healthier than Scheifele due to their styles of play. Scheif has no problem getting filthy and banging bodies, because of this, he's more likely to miss time.

2017-18:
Matthews: 62gp/34g/29a/63pts (age 20)
Scheifele: 60gp/23g/37a/60pts (age 25)

Yeah, I'm definitely keeping Matthews - it's scary to think he'd be the baby of the group too!

Pretty tough after that. With no position id eliminate Marchand based on age and potential to miss games.

Tavares vs schiefele vs Matthews. I mean there's no wrong answer really and can make a strong case for any of the 3.

Gun to my head I'm taking shciefele today. Likely to change my mind daily until I was forced to pick by the league.
