I have the 2nd pick in a points only pool. I know Dahlen will go first. Should I take W. Karlsson or A, Svechnikov who are both available?

I would take the guy already playing & producing on a high scoring teams 1st line. Albeit he may regress from mid 70s to 65-70 due to high shooting %, he is still already doing what you hope Svech would become.

True, but I am looking long term, not just for 1 year. Would you still take Karlsson today in a points only pool looking long term?

It would help if you listed your team and league settings.

Yes, in a Las Vegas minute. Long term is 3 years. Maybe you are not planning on contending for 3+ years?
