Interesting... is he leaving the flames... gonna take a year or two off to see the world and take in a few Seahawks games? Seattle would be a nice place to visit quite often in the next year

I predict Brian Burke will take over Coach's Corner at some point.
    I can't imagine a better fit.
It just makes too much sense.
    He loves the camera.
He has many personality traits in common with Cherry (grumpy, funny, sometimes out of touch, belittling and dismissive etc etc.)
He is getting too old for travelling and the day to day grind with hockey ops.
He's polarizing like Cherry, old school like Cherry, and will often be controversial like Cherry.
    Book it.
This makes so much sense! I don't like Burke, but I often listen to him because I respect his hockey mind...most of the time.

Woah if Burke had a tinge of orange hair.....he's Trump. Not sure if anyone has said that. He will definitely add a lot to the panels....just needs a bit of charisma.

Burke may come across as an arrogant, controversial dude on TV, but as a person you meet on the street he's actually very down to earth, approachable and generous with his time.

I think he'd be an awesome replacement for Cherry (who makes an absurd amount of money for a senile old man).

Met Burke overseas when I was in Afghanistan. Awesome guy! Happy as a Flames fan that he is leaving but as a person, he was great to talk to.

He was really good on the panel earlier today on SN. I think he has a lot to offer. He is full of knowledge and he's honest. As long as he doesnt try too hard to be cranky just for the sake of it, he should be a good fixture on TV.

I think his partner in crime for the ''cranky for the sake of it'' is TSN's James Duthie . Maybe Colby Armstrong from sportsnset could rile him up though

I certainly think he's a better fit on TV than running an NHL team in 2018. He would be one of the rare guys on TV that actually have something to say that isn't a bunch of hot air.

WHen he's been on Tim and Sid he's even got a bit of a funny side to him.

Super smart at hockey, bit out of date, however....He doesn't talk passionately. You can tell he's passionate about what he talks about, but he's quite mono-tone. He would make a great person for a panel, but to be the main guy like Cherry...He'd fizzle out quickly.

Him on a panel though, yeah great choice. Him alone (or with 1 other person), meh.

    Couldn't agree more.
