Thank you, that's helpful! So one thing that will help a ton is the league is doing a goalie redistribution draft in which each team is going down from 3 goalies to 2. The lowest ranked team in the standings (yours truly) gets to pick first from this pool. So I'll be adding someone along the lines of Cam Talbot for free soon.

^That's your first move right there imo. You're like Vegas and expansion right now where you hold an excellent advantage to make a deal for a goalie (who is going to be thrown back anyways) on the cheap, and then add your 2nd goalie from the re-draft. If you can walk away with 2 solid starters, you've improved your team dramatically for very little.

And by very little, I mean offering Halak and a late pick (or pick swap) or a mid-tier guy like Killorn when he's hot in the playoffs and looks more attractive than he should. There's no real incentive for a team with 3 Gs about to lose 1 for nothing, to not at least entertain making a deal.

Once your goalies are set, then go about trying to find value and upgrades with your skaters.

Real good advice here, target the ones with 3 goalies and see if you can make a trade. They will be interested to get something instead of losing them for nothing. You may be able to pick up a couple goalies this way.

I like this idea a lot.

I'd still be plucking Pickard off waivers, and maybe Mason & Appleby. The latter is more a prospect/farm guy - hope he's eligible.
