    Prairie,

If you don't need minimal production right now, cut bait with Severson. The NJ blue line belongs to Will "don't call me Abdullah the" Butcher. The others are pups, so the jury is still out. There was a time Severson could have grabbed the reins in NJ, like Ghost did in Philly or Klingberg in Dallas, but he couldn't.

Hague just scored 30 G in juniors, so there's no way you're axing him, unless you're on potent hallucinogens.

    Niku is still a baby.

Hejek is a player Yzerman refused to part with at the deadline, so that says something.

    Schmaltz and Honka ooze talent.

Severson could be one of these dudes that put it all together when he's 26 - in a few years - but knowing what I know today, I would cut him before the others long-term.

I don't see much from Severson either. He's the guy to go.

agree, Severson is my pick.. you could likely re-add him in Nov. if you find room or make some other move

I know Severson isn't producing a ton but he's a year younger than Jordan Schmaltz who turns 25 later this year and still isn't a regular in the NHL. I'm surprised people are showing so much patience with him.
