Manager inquired about Ehlers. He was trying to move Panarin all year without success. Would you think its a wise move to move Ehlers for Panarin? Just looking for thoughts from you guys.

I think Panarin clearly showed that he wasn't Kane (or Chicago) dependent, outscoring his career high in Chitown by 5 points. That said, Ehlers scores more goals, and he's just getting warmed up. There's also a 4 year difference.

To be honest, I really like Ehlers with your young core of McDavid, Pastrnak, Nylander, Hellebyuck, etc. I am not opposed to landing Panarin, but could you possibly do it via a package of prospects/picks, without moving Ehlers? Say something like ... D. Strome, Nurse, high pick, etc.? Having Ehlers-Panarin as a 1-2 LW punch would be sweet.

I'd do it. Panarin is and will continue to be "the guy", whereas Ehlers is just one of many stars in the Peg. Plus Panarin has already shown a high ceiling.

It's a tough call but it probably shouldn't be.

I really like Ehlers as a player (more than panarin) but the reality is panarin will probably out produce him for at least a couple more year, and very possibly 5 or 6 more years. If Ehlers gets top minutes and PP1 he *may* get to ppg but do we see him much beyond thst in a best case scenario? Im not sure.

I think the smart fantasy move is to take panarin here even though I really like Ehlers. You may be able to get a small add if he's been trying to move panarin all year..
