H2H Final - Managing my goalies
So I’m in my league’s 2 week championship, which ends on Saturday, April 7th.
It’s 4-4 so far and my opponent currently leads in all the goalie cats:
ME (1 start so far): 1 win/2.01 GAA/.933%/ 0 SO
OPPONENT (3 starts): 3 wins/1.34 GAA/.957%/ 1 SO
Our league has a 3 start minimum for each H2H, so I have some time to reach that...
My goalies: Vasilevskiy, Grubauer, Hutton...and I just nabbed Saros off of waivers today.
Opponent’s goalies: Markstrom, Reimer and Halak
I’m just wondering in this situation, would I be better off sitting Vasilevskiy (at Boston) tonight, and try and keep my rate stats down with other matchups vs. weaker teams. I’m concerned Vas could blow up my stats tonight, and then I’ll never catch up...
You have to figure Grubauer will split starts with Holtby... Hutton will get starts in the 2 B2Bs that St. Louis has remaining (perhaps vs. Arizona on Saturday)... Saros slots into my line-up as of tomorrow and should get either Buffalo (Saturday) or Tampa (Sunday). So I’m not worried so much as the number of starts here, as I am worried about the quality of starts through next week.
So would you roll with Vasilevskiy tonight? Honestly, I’m kinda on the fence..
FWIW, I also hold the tiebreaker in this playoff series... I might need it, lol

There's still lots of time for the ratios to play out, but right now you're behind in wins. I know Boston is a tough matchup for Vas but I'd still put him in there and hope for the best. You still have plenty of time to recoup if the start turns out horribly.
