Dobber; blocked!
So, I work with Employment and Social Development Canada, and have for the last year and a half or so. In my job, there is a bit of down time which is spent by reading or surfing the Internet. Since it is a government of Canada computer, they do block several sites which they consider to be inappropriate for work. These sites tend to be porn (obviously), gambling sites and gaming sites. Facebook and CNN are allowed, but sites like IGN and Pornhub are not.
Well, yesterday at work, I tried to go to Dobber, and got the ?Error 403; Site blocked by Service Canada? message! I had always been allowed to visit Dobber before then.
I wonder if it is somebody?s job to search through the browser history in work computers to find sites to ban that are deemed inappropriate for work. It?s a sad day...

I also work for the Government of Canada (RCN) and like you have to deal with certain sites being blocked. I remember when they blocked Twitter from our computers. That was a sad day for me. I am constantly surfing Twitter and that one hurt. I wouldnt be too happy if they took my Dobber away from me either so I can appreciate your situation.
I am on vacation this week so when I go back next week, I hope my Dobber is still there for me.

If you really wanna get through the block, you can go to a site, then within that site go to dobber. Think like, Browser within a Browser, so your computer thinks it's actually on the original site.

I've never needed to try it out myself but I recall reading in an article that you can bypass blocked websites the way 2014og described by opening them through google translate.

DobberHockey (and forum) is blocked at my work as well. It's because they're using "Games" as a keyword for the site. DobberProspects is not blocked, though.

My jobs blocks a lot of sports sites if I try to directly go to them, however if I google search the site and go to it that way there's no block...

Uhoh, I'm anticipating on becoming an employee at the DND (Canada) very soon. Hopefully I'm not totally locked down for internet. But then again I'll be in IT so I'm sure I'll better access then regular employees
