Default Drafting 11th in a 16 team league.....

My other yearly league bumped up to 16 guys this year and I landed the 11th overall. Ugh. Draft is tonight....any advice before 10pm would be greatly appreciated.

    W, K, ERA, WHIP, SV+H

What do you guys think I should target in the first 2 rounds?? Do I pass on a hitter with my 1st pick if one of the "Big 4" SP is there (Kershaw, Sale, Kluber, Max)?? Because I know I'm going to love the hitters at my 2nd pick....and not sure I want to take a Noah, Strasburg, DeGrom type over a Rizzo, Bellinger, Donaldson.

I wouldn't be against taking one of the big 4, but I also wouldn't mind taking two hitters (preferably middle IF), and then grabbing a starter at 3 or 4. Someone in the Archer, Carrasco, Martinez, tier to be your number one.

If you can get one of the big-4 pitchers, that means that the top hitters are off the board so I’d be good with any of them. I would get a guy like Rizzo on the turn if the rest of the big 4 are taken.

    Best Player Available.

    You're picking 11, 22, 43, 54.

So you could get a Bryant, Goldy, Harper, Correa, Votto, Scherzer, Sale, or Kluber with pick 1
Pick 2: Thor, Stras, Lindor, Rizzo, Judge, Ramirez
Pick 3: Yelich, Bregman, Gordon, Hoskins, Marte, Benintendi, Severino, Nola, Ray, Darvish, Martinez
Pick 4: Jansen, Quintana, Ozuna, Buxton, Cruz, Cano, Davis

You can see the massive drop off you’ll get at pitching after your 2nd pick. You go from a Syndergaard to a Severino. If you miss the SP in the first 2 picks, I would just forget about SPs until the middle rounds for you and focus on hitting at that point. Then just draft guys with high K’s and on good teams for pitching. So you can at least win the Ks and maybe get a guy who could put up 15 wins on a good team.

Don’t lock yourself into a draft plan. It’s about being organic. If you draft Bryant at 11, and have Harper available there at pick 22, you HAVE to pick Harper.

To be honest....just ok. I love the idea of going heavy on hitting in H2H leagues but I just loved of the value that fell to me at Pitcher so I felt like I was playing catch up on hitters when I am normally playing catchup on Pitchers. Definitely lots of late upside and positional options.....

JT Realamuto has back issues popping up I just heard on Rotoworld Fantasy XM Radio. Be aware of this and adjust during the season accordingly.
