Essentially, I have to weigh off Rattie's potential points playing with McDavid against Formenton's future role - will he be more like a Cogliano (great wheels, less great finish) or Larkin (great wheels, decent finish). I like what I've seen and read from Formenton, but still have some reservations as to his future role in the NHL. Will he be an elite 3rd liner, filling in for spurts on the 2nd line or a fixture in the top six? That's what I have to decide.

yeah thats pretty spot-on analysis Comish. he's almost certainly going to see opportunity in the smouldering crater that is the Ottawa Senators, but yeah I agree, I think youre right that there's real concerns about his upside. And if your league counts +/- you may want to stay away from Ottawa for the next decade or so

Thanks Hoopo, the league does count plus/minus, so Rattie will likely be a decently large plus and Formenton a decently large negative. Argh, I am really having a hard time deciding!!

For the record, I turned down the offer after going to the local Edmonton papers and listening to the coach and McDavid himself say they want some consistency with linemates. I'll gamble on Rattie and hope that I don't regret it!

Rob Brown (Lemieux) is likely a better comparison / risk assessment for Rattie.

Honestly I'm not sure if he will. PP2 maybe but the Oilers like to stack their PP1 with RNH, McDavid and Draisaitl and at least one more fwd. It might be Rattie but there's no guarantee.

In a points-only league, if he's still on the wire, and Neal is your worst guy, then I think it's worth doing. There will be other hot-hands to sub him with if things fall apart.
