Default Jon Gillies or Ville Husso

    Hi guys,

Whitch one will have the best opportunities next year and who has the best long term upside? I'm looking for a future starter (2-3 years max). Do you think that one of them can be a top 10 NHL goaltender?

    Thank you very much!

I would put my money on Gillies, but do you not have any other options closer to the NHL?

    not really...unfortunatly!

My options are: Gillies, Husso, Parsons, Blackwood, Coreau and McIntyre... Demko, Saros, Comrie, Dell, Jarry, Hart and all NHLer are not available. All the young russian are not available in the yahoo list... Options are thin!

I like Gillies but I think Husso has great potential too. I'm not sure but Hutton will not be back next year and it appear to be a good opportunity for Husso... Maybe Gillies will have the same opportunity in CGY?!?!

I'm a Flames fan through and through, but I honestly believe there are some serious issues with that team and IF Gillies does get on to the team, If things don't get fixed, I don't see him having much success. Smith has been good more times than not as has Rittich. So unless for some reason one of them gets shipped out or sent down, I think Husso gets a better shot.

I would say Husso, but to be honest I dont think either guy makes an impact next year or for the next couple years. I wont be surprised to see STL re-sign Hutton. That being said, with Smith only having one year left on his current deal, there's always a chance he signs a short term deal at the end of that to stick around.

Is there anyway you can deal one of these guys with another asset to find an actual NHL goalie?

Well Rittich just got sent down HAHAHA! So I guess Gillies will get another shot.

Or are they sending Rittich down so he can get some playing time instead of sitting while Smith plays?

Rittich has had some rough outings lately so it's not surprising to see them shake it up. I doubt it's a long-term change. Teams are smart to take advantage of waiver exemption.
