Crazy for keeping Talbot?????
Hey Guys.
Title says it.
A part of me wants to keep Talbot. Seeing his, and the Oiler's play lately is making me think the early season struggles were an anomaly. They are a similar team as last year, and last year he was one of the top goalies to own.
As of now, Quick is my keeper of choice.......

I'm debating this very thing also. We can keep a maximum of two goalies and currently Vaselevskiy is the only guy I have slotted in, but I've traded my top two picks in the next draft for playoff push upgrades and I'm not sure I want to risk trying to pick a second goalie from scraps in the 3rd round. I believe Talbot and the Oilers have a bounce back year so I'm leaning towards keeping him, but it would come at the cost of a defenseman probably.

Ya. We can only keep 1 goalie.
Which is a kicker because earlier this year I had Andersen...then made a trade which brought me Crawford back and a couple skaters.....and then Crawford got hurt......I ended up losing that trade.
But that's besides the point.
I feel like Talbot may be worth a gamble....but I felt the same way about Crawford, and look how that turned out....

This is a close one. Are there any other teams in the league looking for a keeper goalie? If so, I’d offer up both of your goalies and see which one fetches a bigger return.

I'd definitely prefer Quick over Talbot as a keeper. Quick isn't likely to give you top-5 goalie performance, but he's seems like a good bet to not implode. Any goalie could go into the crapper, but I think you're more likely to get Talbot back than Quick, if you think of ending up with the combo again.

The odds of Talbot having a great season next year are IMO similar to the odds of Quick having a great season next year.
The odds of Talbot having a lousy season next year are IMO far greater than the odds of Quick having a lousy season next year.
Quick by a mile. Similar ceiling to Talbot, higher floor than Talbot, and far more consistent.

Only one goalie, keep Quick, better chance Talbot may fall to 3rd round if you want back.

Keep in mind Talbot had twins this year, and many NHLers have a down year adjusting to parenthood.
That said I'd keep Quick to go with proven over potential
