I know the contract situations are different, but do you guys think Seattle would take Price if the Habs made him available hoping to pull off a MAF style expansion draft win? If he has another season or two like this one they would be idiots not too expose him. Bergevin will undoubtedly be gone (because he is in no way a competent GM and will have to go at some point) and the new guy should be looking to rebuild around that time...

He has a full NMC so it would be up to Price if he's exposed or not.

Yeah...being from BC and sick of the clown show Canadiens management I'd say he'd go for it.

I mean Vegas only took on ridiculous contracts if there was an incentive for them to take it.
So by that logic it would mean Montreal would not only have to give up their franchise goalie, they'd need to throw in some extras along with it.
    Doesn't make sense.

But to your original question, I'd say no, I don't think they take him.
Not a great way to start your franchise of my strangle holding yourself to a 7/6/5 year contact at 10.5 million.

If Seattle does want Price, unless there is some creative dealing done during the expansion which involves MTL acquiring another goalie from another team VIA Seattle, swallowing some of Prices's cap and including draft picks each way, I don't see it happening.

Whoever thought Price(because of his contract) would be a franchise killer.. That contract is horrible, especially for a goalie..

Probably not. The Canadiens bid against themselves (and maybe some imagined expansion Montreal franchise in a sim league being played by somebody in the front office). If Price returns to being "PRICE" he deosn't get exposed. If he's this bad the next couple years, nobody will want him. Only chance I see is:

    1. If he becomes a good goalie again, and
    2. The cap goes up, or salary can be retained somehow (maybe it's a deal post-draft, or they send other player(s) and retain salary there?) , and
    3. It looks like Montreal has a replacement lined up, kind of like the Penguins situation.

Price is going to come back healthy next year... tear it up again and there will be little to no chance that Montreal exposes him....

    See... Martin Brodeur.... Patrick Roy...

Roy only played 22 games the year he was 30.... and then he went on and played for how many more years?

It's good to remember that in NHLPA Player Poll, it was quite clear NHL players still think Price is pretty good.

One bad season...Price will be back in fine form next year...although the Habs could help a little and surround him some NHL calibre defensemen.

MAF was made available because Murray was in the fold to replace him. Montreal does not have anyone to replace Price. I doubt even brain-dead Bergevin would expose Price to Seattle.
