One key bit that I wasn't expecting, was that Vegas won't lose a player.

Can we place bets on Vegas winning the cup that season? They could be the second outlet option for teams who have too many players to protect. Seattle now won't get the same advantage of having every single GM's hands tied. I know if was negotiated long before the big success of the Golden Knights (and they also don't share in the profit from the expansion fee) but wow does that ever seem like a big opportunity for Vegas to take advantage of.
