Default Halak next year? NHL or across the pond?

Where do you think he ends up next year?
I can't see him signing to be a backup and not many teams needing at #1.

Other notable G in competition to sign in the NHL as UFAs:
UFAs - Raanta (will re-sign), Hutton(I think he re-signs), Lehtonen(I think he stays in DAL for cheap), Ward, Bernier, C.Johnson, Pavelec
    RFAs - Lehner, Grubauer, Mrazek

Reason for asking, I have him in my 2nd league below, but with the end of the season coming up, I was thinking of dropping him and doing a claim on any goalie that's played a game.
    Thinking of Alex Lyon.
    Others available: Campbell, Comrie, Dansk

The other G I have without clicking team link:
    Murray, Fleury, Luongo, Saros, Gillies(farm)
    DYNASTY Cap(127M) 12 Team
    G, A, PIM(.1), positive +/- D only, W(2), SO(2), OTL(1)
23 + 4 IR + 7 prospects (locked in for season if under 200 GP)
    Start: 11F, 5D, 2G - 82 games each slot

F: Crosby, Malkin, Aho, Rantanen, Batherson, Boldy, Kempe, Pavelski, Duchene, Hagel, Frost [Duclair, Farabee, Jenner]
D: Fox, Karlsson, Hamilton, Letang, Montour
    IR:
    G: Sorokin, Kuemper[Husso, Kochetkov]

P: Stankoven, Tomasino, Vilardi, Sanderson, York, Zellweger, Wahlstrom
    Roster Cap Breakdown

    DYNASTY Cap (110M) 12 Team 2
    G, A, PIM(.1), Positive +/- D only(0.5), Hattie(3), W(2), SO(3), OTL(1)

Considering who you already have and who else is available I don't feel Halak has any value to your team, either now or in the future. I'd rather gamble on Grubauer, Mrazek or Raanta in hopes they become affordable #1 goalies next year.

Thank you Eric. However, my post might have been misread. Those other UFAs and RFAs mentioned are Halak's competition next yr for playing somewhere in the NHL. They are already gone in my league.

I agree with Eric... you have valuable starters... take a chance on someone else. I think I like Comrie better than Lyon... but maybe that is anti-bias being a Flyers fan!

If he doesnt mind taking a big paycut he could carve a niche as a stop gap 1B kinda guy .

This is a real possibility, especially with teams trying to stockpile depth by having a backup with NHL experience (sometimes on one-way deal) in the minors. For example I can see the Oilers signing Halak and waiving/demoting Montoya to give them three competent NHL guys and a potentially-good tandem should something happen to Talbot. Plenty of teams could go this route.

That said I don't believe Halak holds much value in this scenario in a 12-team league.

Who would you want in a 2 goalie setup for next year... Halak or Christopher Gibson?

Either guy would be depth, not seeing much action. Nobody else available worth mentioning.

I'd probably want a non-goalie option instead of Halak , unless the cupboard is really bare. Those available goalies do nothing for me.
