Hey guys,
Ongoing talks with the guy who should have the 1st overall pick for our draft this summer.
Would you trade Kucherov + Sergachev vs Forsberg + Dahlin?
All the details from my league + my team are in my signature.
I should be competitive to win next year (currently in 1st place this year)...
I think Kucherov is going to sign for a crazy amount in a year, so I could trade him now and have Forsberg's nice contract.
What do you guys think?

If you are in it to win it next year... I keep Kucherov and Sergachev... because they will help you most next year.
I understand the desire to get rid of Kucherov before he gets a huge pay-day. However... the Tampa Bay Rays have had this train of thinking for a long time... and I don't think it has worked for them.
I would keep Kucherov and try for a championship and then deal with his contract when it comes.
Especially when you mentioned it is only the guy that MIGHT get 1st overall!

There's a 0% chance I make that deal. Yes, Kucherov's getting paid, and it's because he's earned it. I don't a far lesser player at a far lesser price and a guy just getting drafted to be my return for him.

I would keep the Kucherov side as well.

That would be beyond a bad deal. To me on value it's 75-25 . I don't think you can look at a deal being viable until it's 60-40

The irony is that we don't really know what Kucherov would sign for. What if he ends up signing 8 yr for 8.5 mil, then you would lose the gamble by a landslide. I would rather keep Kucherov, win 2 yrs in a row and then worry about it once you get to that bridge.

Even in a cap league I wouldn't do it. I have a feeling that Yzermab manages to keep Kucherov under 10M too.
